AESUB 3D Scanning Consumables

Part preparation for quality control and 3D inspection

Overview

Based in Melbourne, Scan-Xpress is the main B2C and only B2B Australian distributor of the AESUB range of 3D scanning sprays, dice, target nets and dots. The scanning consumables have been developed to help acquire data on problematic surfaces; providing users with outstanding data quality after applying to their part. They can be used in a variety of applications and with virtually any 3D scanner.

3D Scanning Applications:

  • Scanning transparent or reflective parts;
  • Deep pocket or groove scanning;
  • High-accuracy requirements.

Using the GOM Scan 1, AESUB and Delta WASP 3D printers; we scanned, reverse engineered and manufactured a complex object, showcasing how 3D scanning and 3D printing can be used to solve design and manufacturing problems.

We performed a 3D scan using the ATOS Q of a car headlight assembly. To deal with the transparent plastic and reflective surfaces, we used AESUB blue during the process and created this short video showcasing the USPs and vanishing time-lapse.

In order to better understand and document the properties of AESUB Scanning Spray products, the Scan-Xpress team performed a test in order to determine approximate thickness of sprays applied on a smooth steel surface.
